Are you overthinking much about AI? Our mind sure goes into wild rides! If our brains were in a sitcom, overthinking would be that character who messes things up but means well — you know, the lovable goof.

Now, don’t get me wrong. Overthinking isn’t the scheming villain twirling a mustache. It’s more like a quirky detective trying to connect dots that sometimes just don’t connect. Our brains aren’t out to sabotage our weekend plans; they’re just overzealous about keeping us safe, like an overprotective parent wrapping us in bubble wrap.

But here’s the twist: can overthinking send you on a wild goose chase to Anxietyville? Sometimes, yes. But it’s not its main goal. Still skeptical about overthinking’s benevolent side? Let’s talk sports. Athletes, those muscly folks who look like Greek gods and seem perpetually cool, do a fair bit of overthinking. They play out matches in their heads, not out of paranoia, but in preparation. (Highly recommended documentary on just that on Netflix: THe Last Dance — Michael Jordan & the Chicago Bulls). They’ll obsess over every move in past games — not to…
