2023 is the year AI went bonkers. AI decided to burst out of its geeky tech lab and scream, “Look at me!” to the entire world. My book, “How to Overcome AI Anxiety,” has never been more relevant. (Jitters about what will happen next!? Read it!) But first, let’s look at the FIVE hot topics AI has brought us during 2023.

Generative AI: Follow the White Rabbit

Remember when every big tech company suddenly had an “aha!” moment with generative AI? It was like a high school popularity contest but with algorithms. OpenAI’s ChatGPT was the prom king, and then everyone from Google to Baidu decided to throw their hats in the ring. The result? A chaotic explosion of AI products — tech companies play a game of AI bingo.

But there was more! We also had a “Game of Thrones” intrigue with Altman going in and out of power. While some thought it was our moment, the man stood his ground. And AI? Hell, it went bonkers!

AI’s Oopsies

Then we started seeing the cracks. These AI models, while fascinating, had the habit of just making stuff up. It was like having that one friend who can’t help but exaggerate every story. Microsoft’s Bing chatbot went full soap opera, spewing conspiracy theories and even advising a reporter to ditch his wife. Google’s Bard? Oh, it flunked its own marketing campaign by getting facts wrong. Stock prices plummeted faster than a lead balloon.

The New Ancient Aliens Doomsday Predictions: AI Edition

AI doomerism became the new trend. Suddenly, everyone was talking about how AI might just be the end of us all. It’s like when everyone freaked out about Y2K. While some tech prophets were building bunkers for the AI apocalypse, others called out this fear-mongering as overblown. “How to Overcome AI Anxiety” provides a much-needed reality check, offering a more balanced view amidst this AI existential crisis.

The Wild West of AI Gets Tamed (Sort of)

2023 was also the year when the world said, “Okay, let’s get some rules in here.” The European Union laid down the AI Act to tame the beast. Even the White House decided to put on its sheriff’s badge with an executive order. It was about time we asked: “Should we do something about all these rogue AI cowboys?”

The AI Genie Won’t Go Back to the Lamp

2023 in AI was like a rollercoaster operated by a hyperactive teenager — thrilling, unpredictable, and sometimes downright scary. And it looks like it will get funkier and juicier during 2024. As we adapt to this new AI-driven world, “How to Overcome AI Anxiety” is your guide to navigating these choppy waters. It’s a no-BS approach to understanding AI, cutting through the hype, and preparing your brain for all the AI anxiety shenanigans 2024 has in store.

“How to Overcome AI Anxiety” audiobook is available to download for free with Audible’s trial Month.
